The Enaex Mining Technical Solutions team will begin by establishing a baseline in conjunction with your site personnel.
This way your site personnel will have a full understanding of how the baseline was measured. Most studies consist of developing a baseline through some sort of particle size distribution analysis. One of the most common methods is through image analysis; a more laborious method would be physically screening a number of samples. We will use the method that best suits your operation. Either way, once this baseline has been established the team can work on design modifications that will adjust the overall fragmentation to better meet your product specifications. The methods will take cost and effort into consideration to achieve the desired outcome. The objective is to determine the balance between cost, effort, explosive energy, and timing compared to the desired fragmentation size and how to best optimize the drill and blast operation to the needs of the overall operation. There are many variables that determine fragmentation size, the key is to best understand what role each one plays and how big of a player it is. This understanding is achieved through rigorous measurement and record keeping for each blast and comparison to the baseline data.
