The Enaex Mining Technical Solutions team will use drone technology for many applications. Drones can be used for surveying, pre-blast clearances, videography, and post-blast clearances.
We believe in using the newest and best technology to achieve the best blast performance possible and drones are one of the tools used to achieve this goal. The drone can be used to survey the area of the blast prior to design using photogrammetry. From the stitching of a series of photographs, a digital surface can be generated for use in the blast design. Drones can be used to assist the blaster-in-charge clear the exclusion zones prior to the blast. They can quickly fly to each road guard and sweep the area to obtain views not achievable from the ground. The drone can be used in the filming of the blast. It can quickly be positioned to record an unobstructed view of the blast and is not subject to ground access as is the case with conventional tripod mounted cameras. The drone can also be used to quickly view the blast just after detonation to look for possible misfires or other hazards.
