Fragmentation Management
The Enaex Mining Technical Solutions team will work with your site to develop a fragmentation management program. Once the baseline has been established, the team will work with your site on modifying the blast design to adjust the fragmentation to meet the product specifications. The design changes can be gradual to better understand the site variables involved in defining the blast fragmentation. The method of optimization will be site specific and will take into consideration, production rates, economics, equipment limitations, product availability, etc. The program will be designed to best accommodate your current fleet and cost parameters to achieve the product specification needed for your operation.

Muckpile Shaping
The Enaex Mining Technical Solutions team will work with your site to establish the timing and loading regimes of your blast to best shape the muckpile to suit your method of excavation. Whether it is a cast blast with dozer push or a production blast with concentrator ore, waste, and leach ore, there are methods to loading and timing that can best shape the final muckpile to your particular needs.
-
Burden Relief
The Enaex Mining Technical Solutions team will work with your site to understand the rock reaction time or the time it takes from the moment of detonation to the moment that the rock begins to move. This number plays an important role in the timing design stage and in the overall timing relief of the blast. Depending on the goal of the blast, fragmentation, and throw, this number can act as a baseline for the timing design.

Ore Dilution – Coal Damage
The Enaex Mining Technical Solutions team will work with your site to identify areas of concern around ore dilution or coal damage. Ore dilution has a large impact on profitability. This dilution can come from a number of different sources, but often it arises from too much movement within the muckpile. So it becomes a balancing act of muckpile movement and diggability. For coal operations, it usually comes as coal damage where the damaged coal ends up in the spoils or if the operation has a wash plant, it may come as reduced efficiency of the plant. Once the source is identified, methods can be implemented to reduce the impact on the operation.

High-Speed Videography
The Enaex Mining Technical Solutions team will film blast events up to 1,000 frames per second (fps). This equates to 1 millisecond (ms) per frame. At this frame rate many details of blast performance can be observed and analyzed.
-
Drone Technology
The Enaex Mining Technical Solutions team will utilize drone technology to film the blast from an unobstructed vantage point. Videography is one of the most powerful tools in blast analysis. Using drone technology to achieve unobstructed views of the blast provides unparalleled capability in analyzing blast performance.

Vibration / Air Overpressure Management
The Enaex Mining Technical Solutions team (EMTS) will work with your site to develop a vibration management program. Most operations today have to contend with vibration and air overpressure management as developments encroach on the operation or vice versa. The key to managing vibration and air overpressure is in proper establishment of a control program, usually through the use of signature holes and signature hole analysis and proper design and implementation. Understanding the type of structure or point of interest with regards to vibration and air overpressure is important in knowing how to adjust the blast design to minimize the impact. The EMTS team has years of experience in establishing programs that will help minimize vibration and air overpressure impacts on your neighbors or your own facilities.
